Zen Privacy Policy

Last updated October 2, 2026

The short version

Zen doesn’t collect any data about you. It has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and nothing you do in Zen is sent to us.

On your iPhone

Your timer settings and a daily count of the focus sessions you complete are stored on your iPhone so Zen can work. Zen also checks whether an Apple Watch is paired, only to tailor its welcome screen. We can’t see any of this, and deleting Zen deletes it.

iCloud

If you’re signed in to iCloud, Zen keeps the current timer (the selected session, whether it’s running and when it ends) in Apple’s iCloud key-value storage, so it stays the same on all your devices that use Zen. This data lives in your iCloud account under Apple’s Privacy Policy, and we can’t access it.

Alarms and notifications

Zen asks to schedule alarms so it can alert you when a session ends, even in Silent mode or during a Focus. If alarms are turned off, Zen uses a notification instead. Both are scheduled on your iPhone, and you can change either permission anytime in Settings.

Apple

Apple may collect information when you download and use apps, as described in Apple’s Privacy Policy. If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us crash reports and usage statistics that don’t identify you.

Children

Zen is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and in the app, and change the date at the top.
